LJ

The LJT (surface) and LJU (underground) locomotives were first built in 1960 and were fitted with Ruston's 4YDA air-cooled engine which drove through hydrostatic transmission to a jackshaft and rods. Some of the surface versions were also available as an 0-6-0 wheel arrangement and weighed up to 12 tons as opposed to the 0-4-0's 10 tons.
