48DS Gallery

48DS w/n 458961 of 1962, at Underwood's of Droitwich. This loco has the final style of cab and the deep buffer beams. It is now privately preserved in Herefordshire.

W/n 265617 at Blackett Hutton Ltd.'s foundry at Guisborough. This loco spent its entire working life here and for many years its only duty was to transport a ladle of molten metal on a single flat wagon on about 300 yards of track. It is now preserved at Alnwick station, Northumberland.

W/n 417889 at Yorkshire Brick, 28th May 1977. This loco was formerly Rustons demonstrator for the class. It later worked for Trackwork Associates Ltd. on contracts all over the UK. It is now supposedly preserved in the Isle of Wight.
